Newborn Photography - Natural Light Photography of Your Newborn
The baby is nowhere, and everyone wants pictures! But every time you try to take images, your child looks like a little wrinkly old person rather than the beautiful being you visit before beginning. Well here are some tips to capture your newborn to find the best results. Use window lighting for the best natural soft light to showcase your infant. Find a window which has an abundance of superior lighting - not direct sunlight flowing in, but good indirect sunlight. - Remove clutter out of the background of your shot by putting the infant in a carrier using a solid colored blanket covering it, or on the bed with white sheets. - Remove the babies clothes to the diapers. Less clothes is better for newborn photography to actually demonstrate the baby as they have a tendency not to fit clothing well at this age, and clothes is more of a diversion. If the diapers have cartoons on them, attempt to pay the animations by bending over the diaper, or putting fabric over that place - or take your chances and eliminate that diaper!
Work fast at this point if you opt for this route. - With your camera ready, ensuring the babies face and body has been turned toward the light from the window, begin taking pictures from different angles. Try to fill the frame with the infant and the solid colored blanket or sheet - avoiding additional clutter or objects that may get into your background. Do not try to get the infant to smile - simply take a succession of images from various angles, with some of the baby looking at the camera and a few of the baby's profile, a number of the top of the head etc.. Keep working your way round the infant singing and talking to your baby to attempt and engage them. If the baby starts fussing, soothe them as necessary and when they are calm, then try again. Should they fall asleep - no more problem - photograph them while sleeping!
Take more pictures than you believe you need - you never know which ones you want. Be sure to receive come complete body, some half body and some close ups of face, hands, feet and other adorable, memorable body parts - such as the fuzzy wrinkly shoulders, funny hair lines, and much more. - Now it's time to develop the pictures- whether in your computer or in the lab, create your images and then sit down and go through them, appearing with an artistic eye to choose those which catch the baby that you see, and now in your life.
